I have our main set to sync to our warm spare immediately after a change is detected. I use the "keep in sync" feature for the devices at our datacenter/hub (the hubs in a hub and spoke topology). This broke the guest network for most of our sites. For some reason it overwrote policy with other policy that wasn't even in the scope of the really have no idea why it did what it did. I used it a couples time but the last time wasn't so good. Pushing out mass updates via the dashboard is hit or miss. Also, more than a couple times the dashboard has freaked out and showed all of our devices as unlicensed and offline. Accessing these devices via the dashboard can be slow. Making any change to the OpenVPN application such as adding another tunnel will bring all other tunnels down. by default these do not block outbound or east to west traffic like other devices Per device licensing is annoying and the price does not scale well past 50 devices.

OpenVPN is included for free, no license needed. There are lite/free versions of the paid applications to play with. will work without a license but obviously you wont get the paid features like web filtering etc. automatic configuration backups to the dashboard. supports captive portal and can be integrated with Active Directory or radius they have a very nice knowledge base and the community forum is helpful it supports dynamic routing to an extent and VRRP can be configured on both internal and external interfaces for an active/passive set up. the dashboard opens up the ability to push mass changes to multiple devices or to set up a master device to keep all other devices in sync (not all great - see cons for my experience) Untangle support is very responsive and knowledgeable The devices can be remotely accessed via the dashboard as long as they have a NG Complete license or a home license. Free cloud dashboard that shows the overall status of the devices Can be installed on custom hardware so you aren't limited by vendor hardware. The home license is great (and cheap!) for the power user who wants NGFW features at home The device can send email alerts on what seems like a million different "events" It gives very in depth and actionable data. Site to Site setups are a breeze with the OpenVPN application But it's soured the experience for me and I'm back to looking at alternatives. It's a real shame to be honest because it's actually a pretty cool niche system.

I can't stand seeing this anywhere - everyone was a newbie at some point.but company employees doing it to people who pay for the product is unacceptable. I'm not talking about Joe-Shmo replying - I'm talking about their employees. The are very short with you, often condescending and you frequently find yourself having to bump threads days later in order to get a reply. My issue is with the forums which is the alternative support channel. It's not a shock that the "prosumer" licensing does not include official support (it's heavily discounted).

I liked it enough that I purchased a subscription for it to take full advantage of various the features. Interface is in need of a major facelift but I'm not going to ding it too much for that.
